3D ATOMIC STRUCTURE MODEL
Standard: 3a. I know the structure of the atom is composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Standard: 3b. I know that compounds are formed by combining two or more different elements and that compounds have properties that are different from their constituent elements.
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This project shows my mastery of the standards because I knew that the atom was made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. I needed to make a model of it so that shows that I know what an atom is made up of.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 Science & Engineering Practice you feel you met/gained from completing this project.
I feel that I have gained the skill of SEP using mathematics and computational thinking because we had to figure out ourselves the number of protons and neutrons. We did not need to find the number of electrons because its the same as the number of protons.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/experience and/or score, what is ONE SEP you could have done better on? How will improving in this SEP benefit future work/projects?
I could have improved on communicating information because I feel that me and my partner did not communicate much and we just didn't collaborate when we were making this.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real-world, outside of the classroom?
I can use the skills of collaboration and working with others in the real world probably in my future work place because I have to learn to work with other people and I will already have previous experience.
